Gods Royal Ladies meet between Castles

Set between Bunratty Castle, which was the 15th century home of the O’Brians, Earls of  Thomand and the famous Dromoland Castle, which has hosted American presidents Clinton and Bush is “The Rose Village” known as Newmarket-on-Fergus which welcomed about 30 ladies to a Special Ladies Day at the recently re-furbished Adventist centre.

The village came to life as the guest speaker, Malika Bediako from the South East England Conference Womens Ministries Department, addressed issues concerning women.

Topics such as raising Christian children/teenagers and role of Adventist women in modern society were addressed.  The sad and difficult issue of abuse in all its forms brought a tear to many eyes as Malika spoke candidly and with passion about this often hidden subject.  This was an opportune time to learn about the “End It Now Campaign” and how this world wide movement will help the plight of women trapped in abusive relationships. Lindita Wilson, a Galway church member, gave an update on the campaign.

After learning to care for our children, our selves and especially pointing us to our caring Saviour the ladies enjoyed a wonderful vegetarian lunch cooked by Lilian Cooper (a qualified chef) and her assistants.  It was rumoured that Lilian’s cooking surpassed the chefs in the local Castles!

Speaking of Castles Malika loved them but more especially she enjoyed the company of the Irish ladies and promises to return and minister again to the ladies of the scattered Adventist Churches along the West of Irelands shores.
